Persian Santur

Ancient Mysterious Vibrations

The Persian santur is one of the oldest instruments in the world. It's been played since 3000 years in the Middle East. From there it spread all over Europe and Asia, changing its appearance to the cimbalom, dulcimer and other similar instruments. The santur is as well a direct ancestor from the piano.

Engelbert created his own style. He taught himself how to play by feeling and listening. He hits the 80 strings with dulcimer sticks to have a wider variety in sounds.

He plays intuitive and can easily tune in with any music. Engelbert performed together with Yaima, Carrie Tree, Sam Garrett and many more artists.
